Rodney Steven II, President and Owner of Genesis Health Clubs, attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, on a tennis scholarship. Before attending the university, he actively taught tennis and was physically active. After graduating, Rodney continued following his vision of pursuing a healthy lifestyle and helping others in his hometown do the same. He soon recognized the need for a fitness center focused on top-quality customer service and personal attention.

The service-oriented, results-based training model was born from this early vision, and Genesis Health Clubs anchored its rightful place in the fitness industry.

Genesis Health Clubs currently has seven facilities in Wichita, with 63 total locations in the US. Over the years, Genesis has expanded its reach, from opening clubs in every city in Kansas with a population of over 30,000 to adding club locations in Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma, Iowa, Florida, and Kentucky, expanding as a national brand, including major cities like KCMO, Tulsa, Omaha, and St. Louis, giving customers the most well-rounded and professional fitness experience in the Midwest, Mountain states, and the East Coast.

Within each of the 63 current locations, members will find state-of-the-art, top-of-the-line equipment and the latest and greatest in fitness trends from around the country. Each club also provides specialized amenities and services, including free towel service, racquetball, basketball, volleyball, certified personal training, full-featured locker rooms, indoor running tracks, child care, tanning services, steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, swimming pools, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, spa services, Pilates training studios, and more.

With 150,000 patrons entering the doors daily, Genesis has maintained the best facilities, hired the best staff, and provided thousands of members, from youth to senior citizens, with the ultimate fitness and exercise experience.

Genesis owns most of its properties and operates each one of them.

Through many associations made over the years in sports and sports training, Rodney Steven II has had the opportunity to branch out into other businesses. This includes the Genesis Sports Complex in Goddard, Kansas, consisting of a health club, pre-school, hotel, the indoor waterpark Blast Off Bay, ten tournament baseball and softball fields, a competitive natatorium, restaurant, and sand sports.

• Genesis Health Clubs was featured in the Kansas City Business Journal and the St. Louis Business Journal for acquiring One Life Fitness clubs in the Power & Light District of downtown KCMO and St. Louis - the newest city Genesis is proud of and excited to serve.
• The Wichita Business Journal celebrated Rodney and his brother's achievement in receiving a Family Business Award, noting their drive and success through their business adventures.
• During the pandemic, Genesis continued to expand, and Rodney made members feel safe by installing new air purification systems in all clubs. Club Industry spoke on the seven clubs Rodney gained through The Athletic Clubs acquisition, a true success in trying times. The Tulsa World featured the purchase of both Sky Fitness and Wellbeing locations in Tulsa, OK.
• The Des Moines Register announced Rodney's plan to expand his footprint in Iowa, adding a new $13.5 million fitness center in the former Sears store at the Southridge Mall.
• Club Industry wrote the story on how NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes shot a commercial at Rodney's Genesis KC Racquet Club.
• KAKE News Featured a piece on Rodney Steven and his brothers Brandon and Johnny's efforts to raise over $60,000 for the family of fallen Sheriff's Deputy Robert Kunze.
• The Wichita Eagle announced Rodney's plans for a Goddard Aquatic Center. Since then, the Eagle has continued to follow Rodney's multi-million dollar construction project, highlighting the news of more baseball fields and a sports bar to come to the Goddard sports complex.
• Club Solutions Magazine featured an interview with Rodney Steven regarding the acquisition of the Genesis Westroads location in Omaha, Nebraska. 
• The Kansas City Business Journal interviewed Rodney Steven regarding two recently acquired Kansas City-area World Gym locations. They later noted Rodney's acquisition of The Athletic Clubs located in KCMO.
• Club Industry published a piece featuring Rodney Steven talking about Genesis acquiring both VASA Fitness locations in Wichita, Kansas.
• Genesis celebrated its arrival as a national brand with its acquisition of two locations of MVP Athletic Clubs located in The Villages, Florida. Rodney Steven was featured in Club Industry, speaking about this expansion and the exclusive rights to be the sole health club operator in The Villages.

Rodney and his wife, Juliette, have six children (Breckyn, Rodney Steven III, Brittany, Vanessa, Rock & Berkley) and reside in Wichita, Kansas.
